NAD kinase (NADK) is located in cytosol, catalyzing the transfer of a phosphate group from ATP to NAD to generate NADP. NADK contributes to cellular redox homeostasis, insulin secretion, cancer regulating, heart disease, anabolic and catabolic processes, neuronal development, and aging. The molecular mechanisms that regulate NADK include protein-protein interaction and post-translational modifications, such as phosphorylation and acetylation including Akt, CaMK and PKC pathways.
