The metabolite Naproxen methyl ester (Naproxen Impurity E) is a degradation product from Naproxen which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to in the treatment of pain, menstrual cramps, inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, gout and fever. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory COX inhibitor.
