NPPB is a blocker of the outwardly rectifying chloride channel (ORCC) with IC50 of 80 nM. NPPB has been shown to activate the GPR35-Galfai/o and GPR35-Galfa16 pathways in HEK293 cells, inducing intracellular calcium mobilization.
