  • Scientific Description
Chemical. CAS: 1071-23-4. Formula: C2H8NO4P. MW: 141.06. Synthetic. Phosphorylethanolamine is an ethanolamine derivative that is used in the synthesis of two different categories of phospholipids, glycerophospholipid and sphingophospholipid. It is used as an artificial AP-substrate in a TAMRA/TAMRA fluorescence-quenching assay. Newly discovered phosphoethanolamine cellulose has been shown to regulate biofilm matrix architecture and function and might be important understanding bacterial biofilms and for the generation of new cellulosic materials. Synthetic phosphorylethanolamine (PHO-S) has recently demonstrated cytotoxic activity on melanoma tumor cells associated with apoptotic effects, without any effect on normal cells, as such human normal endothelial, fibroblasts and lymphocytes cells. It has shown to have in vitro and in vivo anti-leukemia effects. - Phosphorylethanolamine is an ethanolamine derivative that is used in the synthesis of two different categories of phospholipids, glycerophospholipid and sphingophospholipid.
