Pemafibrate is selective for PPARalpha over PPARdelta and PPARgamma (EC50 = 2300 and 1000nM, respectively). PPARalpha is a transcription factor that is essential for regulation of lipid homeostasis and glucose metabolism and has been implicated in inflammation.
