Phthalocyanine is a photosensitizer. Phthalocyanine has a light-killing effect on bacterial biofilms, effectively inactivating bacteria. Phthalocyanine can be linked to anticancer drugs to target cancer. Phthalocyanine can also be used to develop chemical sensors for studying microbial infections and tumors[1][2].
