- Scientific DescriptionHistone H3 is one of the core histone proteins that play a fundamental role in the structural organization of chromatin in eukaryotic cells. Together with histones H2A, H2B, and H4, it forms the nucleosome core around which DNA is wrapped, enabling the compaction of genomic DNA within the nucleus. Histone H3 is a highly conserved, positively charged protein that facilitates tight DNA binding through electrostatic interactions with the negatively charged phosphate backbone of DNA. It is composed predominantly of alfa-helical structures and features a flexible N-terminal tail that is subject to a wide range of post-translational modifications (PTMs), including methylation, acetylation, phosphorylation, and ubiquitination. These modifications regulate chromatin dynamics and gene expression by altering nucleosome stability and serving as binding sites for chromatin-associated proteins.
- Shelf life instructionStable at -20°C to -80°C for ≥6 months lyophilized. After reconstitution, aliquot and store at -20°C to -80°C for ≤1 month. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw. Lyophilized proteins ship at ambient temperature.
