- Scientific DescriptionSuperfolder Green Fluorescent Protein (sfGFP) is a robust and engineered variant of the original green fluorescent protein (GFP) derived from Aequorea victoria. sfGFP is designed for enhanced folding efficiency and stability, particularly under challenging conditions such as high temperatures, oxidative environments, or when fused to poorly folding proteins. It retains the characteristic bèta-barrel structure of GFP, with an internal chromophore responsible for its bright green fluorescence (excitation peak ~485 nm, emission peak ~510 nm). sfGFP exhibits improved resistance to denaturation and faster maturation compared to wild-type GFP.
