Retinoic acid is A metabolite of vitamin A and plays an important role in cell growth, differentiation and organogenesis. Retinoic acid is a natural agonist of RAR nuclear receptors with an IC50 of 14 nM for RARalfa/bèta/gamma. The Kd value of Retinoic acid combined with PPARbèta/delta is 17 nM. Retinoic acid inhibits the transcription factor Nrf2 by activating Retinoic acid receptors.
