Sanggenol A acts as a dual inhibitor of nitrofuranone reduction mediated by the intestinal microbial nitrification reductases EcNfsA and EcNfsB. In addition, Sanggenol A is also an effective inhibitor of intestinal bacterial beta-glucuronidase[1].
