    This gene encodes a subunit of the splicing factor 3a protein complex. The splicing factor 3a heterotrimer is a component of the mature U2 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein particle (snRNP). U2 small nuclear ribonucleoproteins play a critical role in spliceosome assembly and pre-mRNA splicing. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2014]

ICC/IF analysis of HeLa cells using GTX47357 SF3A1 antibody at 1:250. Left to right : DAPI, SF3A1, merge. Fix cells using 4% PFA for 30 mins. Wash 3x with permeabilizing wash buffer (PBS+0.3% Tx-100.). Block with 5% goat serum, 1% BSA, and 0.2% fish gelatin. Incubate at 4 oC overnight.

Figure 1. Western blot analysis of SF3A1 using anti-SF3A1 antibody (A05483-1). Electrophoresis was performed on a 5-20% SDS-PAGE gel at 70V (Stacking gel) / 90V (Resolving gel) for 2-3 hours. The sample well of each lane was loaded with 30 ug of sample under reducing conditions. Lane 1: human Hela whole cell lysates, Lane 2: human Jurkat whole cell lysates, Lane 3: human K562 whole cell lysates, Lane 4: human 293T whole cell lysates, Lane 5: human U251 whole cell lysates, Lane 6: human Daudi whole cell lysates, Lane 7: human MOLT-4 whole cell lysates. After electrophoresis, proteins were transferred to a nitrocellulose membrane at 150 mA for 50-90 minutes. Blocked the membrane with 5% non-fat milk/TBS for 1.5 hour at RT. The membrane was incubated with rabbit anti-SF3A1 antigen affinity purified polyclonal antibody (Catalog # A05483-1) at 0.25 microg/mL overnight at 4°C, then washed with TBS-0.1%Tween 3 times with 5 minutes each and probed with a goat anti-rabbit IgG-HRP secondary antibody at a dilution of 1:5000 for 1.5 hour at RT. The signal is developed using an Enhanced Chemiluminescent detection (ECL) kit (Catalog # EK1002) with Tanon 5200 system. A specific band was detected for SF3A1 at approximately 120-130 kDa. The expected band size for SF3A1 is at 89 kDa.
