The SMARCA4 protein is a multifaceted regulator of chromatin remodeling that dynamically alters DNA nucleosome topology through ATP-dependent enzymatic activity. As part of the SWI/SNF complex and the CREST-BRG1 complex, it regulates transcriptional processes, coordinating the release and activating recruitment of calcium-dependent repressor complexes.
