SYTO9 is a green fluorescent nucleic acid dye (Ex=485 nm, Em= 498 nm (DNA)/ 501 nm (RNA)). SYTO9 is cell permeable with poor permeability to the two cell membranes of Gram-negative bacterium, and it has a significant enhancement in quantum yield upon binding to nucleic acids. SYTO9 can be used for fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry analyzes[1].
