Overview
- SupplierGeneTex
- Product NameTFF1 antibody
- Delivery Days Customer9
- Antibody SpecificityThis antibody is specific to pS2 protein, also known as pNR-2.
- Application Supplier NoteImmunohistochemistry 1:25-1:50. This antibody can be used on both frozen and formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections. Prolonged fixation in buffered formalin can destroy the epitope. This antibody may be used at a dilution of 1:25-1:50. For paraffin sections, incubation of primary antibody for one hour at 37 is recommended. The optimum conditions should be determined by the individual laboratory.

- Scientific DescriptionMembers of the trefoil family are characterized by having at least one copy of the trefoil motif, a 40-amino acid domain that contains three conserved disulfides. They are stable secretory proteins expressed in gastrointestinal mucosa. Their functions are not defined, but they may protect the mucosa from insults, stabilize the mucus layer, and affect healing of the epithelium. This gene, which is expressed in the gastric mucosa, has also been studied because of its expression in human tumors. This gene and two other related trefoil family member genes are found in a cluster on chromosome 21. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
