    In the TGF-beta-2 pathway, the TGF beta 2/TGFB2 protein serves as a precursor to latency-associated peptide (LAP) and transforming growth factor beta-2 (TGF-beta-2), regulating their formation. Crucially, TGF-beta2/TGFB2 maintains TGF-beta-2 in a latent state within the extracellular matrix, forming a non-covalent association with TGF-beta-2.
