Thymidylate kinase

Thymidylate proteins play a key role in DNA synthesis by catalyzing the phosphorylation of thymidine monophosphate (dTMP) to thymidine diphosphate (dTDP). This enzymatic process is critical for the production of dTDP, the direct precursor of the DNA building block dTTP.
