The TrkA protein is a receptor tyrosine kinase that is critical in central and peripheral nervous system development, regulating neuronal proliferation, differentiation, and survival. As a high-affinity NGF receptor, TrkA undergoes homodimerization and autophosphorylation upon ligand binding, activating downstream effectors (SHC1, FRS2, SH2B1, SH2B2, PLCG1) cascade.
