The TsaE protein is essential for the generation of the threonylcarbamoyl group at adenosine position 37 (t(6)A37) in the tRNA that decodes the adenine start codon. It may facilitate the transfer of the threoncarbamoyl moiety from threoncarbamoyl-AMP (TC-AMP) to the N6 group of A37, acting synergistically with TsaD and TsaB.
