  • Scientific Description
BOMFC is a fluorescent probe used to study the activity of cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes, specifically insecticide metabolism and pyrethroid resistance. It serves as a sensitive substrate in fluorescence-based assays to assess the inhibitory action of potential synergists and to understand the interaction of pyrethroids like transfluthrin with CYP enzymes. BOMFC is a caged coumarin fluorophore that stays dark until cleaved by an enzyme. Once deprotected, it lights up blue, a classic turn-on fluorescent probe for enzyme activity. Once the protecting group is removed, the free hydroxycoumarin is formed. This molecule is now strongly fluorescent, Excitation: ~350-380 nm, Emission: ~450-480 nm (bright blue fluorescence). - Chemical. CAS: 277309-33-8. Formula: C18H13F3O4. MW: 350.29.
