IP: HM47 antibody was successfully used in immunoprecipitation of samples coming from NP-40 lysates of surface-labelled Daudi cells what confirmed participation of the mb-1 gene product in mIgM-associated heterodimer; subsequently a reprecipitation was performed as a confirmatory step (van Noesel et al., 1991). IHC: This antibody presented strong selective staining of B cell follicles in sections of lymphoid tissue (Mason et al., 1991). HM47 showed also high specificity in staining bone marrow samples with acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) (stained 86% APL cases and only 10% of non-APL samples) (Bhargava et al., 2007).
