The scFv version of this antibody bound insulin at an IC50 of 3.5 x 10(-8) M whereas the parent IgG1 antibody bound insulin at 1.0 x 10(-8) M (PMID: 8047074). This antibody can bind human insulin and proinsulin in an ELISA (PMID: 3894122). This antibody can also be used for the immunohistochemical staining of insulin to identify beta-cells (PMID: 19571666; 31380261). This antibody was also used in double immunofluorescence co-localization experiments on the same slides of human pancreas and gastrointestinal tissue (PMID: 16161007).
