- Scientific DescriptionCatenins are proteins associated with complexes that contain cadherin cell adhesion molecules. p120-Catenin (delta-1-catenin) is a member of the p120 Catenin subfamily and is a structural protein involved in neuronal development. It interacts with Actin, Cortactin and Src Kinases to promote neurite elongation or branching, depending upon its phosphorylation state. Like beta-catenin and gamma-catenin, delta-catenins appear to interact with presenilins. These catenin-presenilin interactions can impact cadherin function and regulation of cell-to-cell adhesion. While beta-catenin acts as a transcription regulatory protein in the Wnt/TCF pathway, delta-catenin has been implicated as a regulator of the NF-kB transcription factor. p120-Catenin is an efficient tyrosine kinase substrate implicated both in cell transformation by SRC and in ligand-induced receptor signaling through the EGF, PDGF, CSF-1 and ERBB2 receptors. - Recombinant Antibody. This antibody reacts human p120 catenin (Catenin delta-1). Applications: WB, IHC. Source: Rabbit. Liquid. 50% Glycerol/PBS with 1% BSA and 0.09% sodium azide.
