Western Blot of mouse heart tissue lysate, using Anti-Phospho-Myl2 (Ser19) rabbit monoclonal antibody (clone RM484) at a 1:1000 dilution. The phospho-specificity of RM484 was verified by peptide blocking using a control non-phosphopeptide or phosphopeptide targeting residue Ser19.

- Scientific DescriptionMyosin is composed of six polypeptide chains: two identical heavy chains and two pairs of light chains. Myosin light chain 2 (MLC2), also known as myosin regulatory light chain (MRLC or RLC, LC20), has many isoforms depending on its distribution. In smooth muscle, MLC2 is phosphorylated at Thr18 and Ser19 by myosin light chain kinase (MLCK) in a Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent manner. The phosphorylation is correlated with myosin ATPase activity and smooth muscle contraction. ROCK also phosphorylates Ser19 of smooth muscle MLC2, which regulates the assembly of stress fiber. - Recombinant Antibody. This antibody reacts to Myl2 (Myosin Light Chain 2v) only when phosphorylated at Ser19. There is no crossreactivity to Myl2 that is not phosphorylated. This antibody reacts to human, mouse or rat Phospho-Myl2 (Ser19). Source: Rabbit. Isotype: Rabbit IgG. Immunogen: A phospho-peptide corresponding to human Phospho-Myl2 (Ser19). Applications: WB.
