This antibody was capable of detecting membrane fractions from human prostatic adenocarcinoma LNCaP and PC3 cells in a solid phase ELISA. This antibody was used for immunoprecipitation of PSMA from LNCaP cell detergent lysates. Antibody binding competition assays were done using flow cytometry and it revealed that 7F12 binds an epitope closed to another murine anti-PSMA antibody 3C6. This antibody was shown to mediated antibody dependent cellular cytotoxicity in human prostatic adenocarcinoma LNCaP cell targets with PBMCs from two donors (WO2003064606). This antibody was also used in the treatment of in vivo tumor xenografts with a combination of Taxotere® (US20090297438).
