- Scientific DescriptionTransferrins are iron-binding blood plasma glycoproteins that control the level of free iron in biological fluids. Transferrin has a molecular weight of around 80 KDa and contains two specific high-affinity Fe (III) binding sites. The main role of transferrin is to deliver iron from absorption centers in the duodenum and white blood cell macrophages to all tissues. Transferrin plays a key role where erythropoiesis and active cell division occur.

![Various whole cell extracts (30 μg) were separated by 7.5% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with Transferrin antibody [N3C3] (GTX101035) diluted at 1:2000. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody. Corresponding RNA expression data for the same cell lines are based on Human Protein Atlas program.](https://www.genetex.com/upload/website/prouct_img/normal/GTX101035/GTX101035_45000_20230414_WB_TPM_watermark_23050223_599.webp)
