Overview

  • Supplier
    GeneTex
  • Product Name
    CXCL8 / IL8 antibody [I8-60]
  • Delivery Days Customer
    9
  • Antibody Specificity
This antibody recognises both recombinant and native IL8. It does not cross react with Monocyte Chemotactic Activating Factor (MCAF)or Regulated on Activation, Normal T-cell Expressed, and Secreted (RANTES).
  • Application Supplier Note
For ELISA: Use at an assay dependent dilution. Can be used as a detection antibody in an ELISA pair with GTX18649 (capture). For Neut: Use at a concentration of 5 microg/ml with 10 ng/ml IL8 for 98.4% inhibition of chemotactic activity. For WB: Use at a concentration of 0.02 - 0.1 microg/ml. Predicted molecular weight: 11 kDa. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

  • Scientific Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the CXC chemokine family and is a major mediator of the inflammatory response. The encoded protein is secreted primarily by neutrophils, where it serves as a chemotactic factor by guiding the neutrophils to the site of infection. This chemokine is also a potent angiogenic factor. This gene is believed to play a role in the pathogenesis of bronchiolitis, a common respiratory tract disease caused by viral infection. This gene and other members of the CXC chemokine gene family form a gene cluster in a region of chromosome 4q. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2017]
