  • Scientific Description
GAPDH (Glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase) is an enzyme of ~37kDa which is a tetramer composed of four identical 37-kDa subunits, containing a single catalytic thiol group each and critical to the enzymes catalytic function. GADPH catalyzes the sixth step of glycolysis and thus serves to break down glucose for energy and carbon molecules. In addition to this long established metabolic function, GAPDH has recently been implicated in several non-metabolic processes, including transcription activation, initiation of apoptosis, ER to Golgi vesicle shuttling, DNA repair. membrane fusion, microtubule bundling and age-related actions in neurodegenerative diseases. - Recombinant Antibody. This antibody reacts to GAPDH. RM114 shows strong reactivity to Human/Monkey GAPDH. RM114 shows weaker reactivity to Mouse, Goat GAPDH and may require higher antibody dilution usage. Applications: WB, IP, ICC, IHC, FACS, ELISA . Source: Rabbit. Liquid. 50% Glycerol/PBS with 1% BSA and 0.09% sodium azide.
