  • Antibody Specificity
This antibody recognizes Ca2+ activated gelsolin. This antibody specifically recognizies and epitope in the G4-G5 domain of gelsolin.
  • Application Supplier Note
Gelsolin is a multifunctional actin-binding protein that controls cellular actin organization and migration. The original VHH version of this antibody binds calcium activated gelsolin with a Kd of ~10 nM. The specificity of the antibody towards gelsolin was confirmed with ELISA. GsnVHH 13 expressed as intrabodies immunoprecipitate endogenous gelsolin. His-tagged GsnVHH 13 can be used to identify gelsolin in a western blot assay. This antibody can trace gelsolin in membrane ruffles of EGF-stimulated MCF-7 cells and delay cellmigration without affecting F-actin severing/capping oractin nucleation activities by gelsolin as demonstrated by immunofluorescense staining.
