Various whole cell extracts (30 μg) were separated by 10% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with HPD antibody [N1C2] (GTX103994) diluted at 1:3000. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody. Corresponding RNA expression data for the same cell lines are based on Human Protein Atlas program.

  • Protein IDP32754
  • Protein Name
    4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase
  • Scientific Description
The protein encoded by this gene is an enzyme in the catabolic pathway of tyrosine. The encoded protein catalyzes the conversion of 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate to homogentisate. Defects in this gene are a cause of tyrosinemia type 3 (TYRO3) and hawkinsinuria (HAWK). Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq]
