- Scientific DescriptionMouse monoclonal to IL12B.Interleukin 12B (IL12B) is a cytokine that acts on T and natural killer cells and has a multitude ofbiological activities. It is a disulfide-linked heterodimer composed of the 40 kD cytokine receptor likesubunit and a 35 kD subunit encoded by IL12A. IL12B is expressed by activated macrophages thatserve as an essential inducer of Th1 cells. It is important in mediating long term protection againstintracellular pathogens. Overexpression of IL12B has been implicated with multiple sclerosis.
