The original antibody was used for an ELISA on human ADAM17 to determine its binding affinity. The antibody was used for flow cytometry on A172 human tumour cells to confirm that it could bind to cellular ADAM17. This antibody was used in vivo on mice in which A431 tumors were established, treatment with the antibody showed significant tumor inhibition and regression was observed in all animals, it achieved complete regression in two mice (US20180057601A1).
