- Scientific DescriptionCTLA4 has a critical role in T cell differentiation and contributes to the maintenance of peripheral T cell tolerance to self antigens. It exerts its major effects on T cell immune responses via regulation of the cell cycle and may be involved in T-cell activation. It binds to B7-1 (CD80) and B7-2 (CD86), and it contains 1 immunoglobulin-like V-type domain. Widely expressed with highest levels in lymphoid tissues.
