- Scientific DescriptionChemical. Formula: C100H148N28O23S2 . C2HF3O2. MW: 2174.6 . 114.0. Synthetic. The mitochondria-derived peptide (MDP) MOTS-c promotes biosynthesis of the endogenous AMP analog AICAR and consequently AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). It induces cellular and systemic glucose uptake and improves insulin sensitivity and has been shown to prevent diet-induced obesity (DIO) in mice. This K14Q mutant of MOTS-c has been shown to be associated with exceptional longevity and may be interesting for aging research. - The mitochondria-derived peptide (MDP) MOTS-c promotes biosynthesis of the endogenous AMP analog AICAR and consequently AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK).
