This antibody recognizes a conformational epitope on the human iC3b.

This antibody binds iC3b with a dissociation constant of 43.3 nM. This antibody can be used in combination with 5D2 to detect iC3b in a sanwich ELISA. This antibody was used to identify iC3b using immunoprecipitation. This antbody was also used for the immunohistochemical analysis of Alzheimers disease brain and was successful in labelling plaques with various morphologies in the grey matter at a 0.625 microg/mL dilution. This antibody can successfully stain human bruchs membrane/choroid tissues samples from patients having age related macular degeneration (AMD). It was able to identify drusen associated with bruchs membrane in stage 3 and 4 AMD tissues (US20140127225).
